Ascension Peace Presbyterian Church was born of a merger between Ascension Presbyterian and Peace Presbyterian churches. The celebration of the merger was held on Sunday July 11, 1993. Our leaders believe in creating a faith community that's as rooted in the gospels as it is in one another. You're welcome to join us next Sunday and see how our community comes together to praise.
The mission statement for Ascension Peace church is grounded in the gospel of Matthew 28:18-20 :
And Jesus came and said to them, "all authority in heaven and on
earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have
commanded you: and lo, I am with you always,
even to the close of the age."
The congregation of Ascension Peace, being true to the scriptures, seeks to reach out to the community around the church building, and beyond the boundaries as the need and challenge arise.
Furthermore, the church seeks to be an inclusive, cross-cultural, cross-racial congregation, composed of every ethnicity in the area, celebrating fully its cultural diversity and making its members unique servants, witnessing for Jesus Christ.
